Hulu To Launch As International Tile On Disney+ On October 8

Hulu will replace Star as a tile on Disney+‘s international service on October 8.

The brand will join  Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and National Geographic in the UK and across EMEA.

Disney had announced the move earlier this year, marking the first major international expansion for Hulu and closely followings Disney deal to buy Comcast out of the U.S. streamer.

Today, Disney confirmed that all Star content will remain the same, with subscribers having access to the likes of  High Potential, Only Murders in the Building, FX’s Alien: Earth, A Thousand Blows, Rivals, Flintoff, Grey’s Anatomy and Modern Family. Currently, they sit under the Star brand internationally.

Upcoming Disney+ titles such as All’s FairThe Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 3 and A Thousand Blows Season 2 will be housed on Hulu.

The plan is to turn Hulu into a “global general entertainment brand.” News of the October 8 launch date had seeped through at Iberseries earlier this week, though local reps denied this was the case.

In the U.S., it is expected that the standalone Hulu app will disappear, but we do know it will run at least through 2026. There, it is being integrated into the Hulu app as well.
