Chloe Fineman Says ‘SNL’ Cast Shakeup Was “Pretty Wild”: “I Haven’t Fully Processed Anything”

Chloe Fineman survived the Saturday Night Live cast shakeup as the NBC late-night sketch show preps to start Season 51.

Ahead of the new season, SNL had some exits, and while she attended a Michael Kors fashion show, Fineman addressed the shakeup.

“Pretty wild,” Fineman said in an interview with Extra. “Some shocking stuff, a little heartbreak, sadness. I haven’t fully processed anything.”

She continued, “I will say, the show has such a turnover. I’m going into my seventh year. I’ve done it and you always experience it. But these people stay in your lives and I’m excited for the new people. It’s so many people.”

The SNL stars not returning for Season 51 include Heidi Gardner (after eight seasons), Michal Longfellow (after three seasons), Devon Walker (after three seasons), Emil Wakim (after one season), and John Higgins, who was part of the Please Don’t Destroy troupe that joined the late-night show in 2021.

Aside from Fineman, cast members returning for the new season include Kenan Thompson, Michael Che, Colin Jost, Marcello Hernández, Ego Nwodim, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, James Austin Johnson, Sarah Sherman, and Bowen Yang.

The new additions to the cast include Ben Marshall, one of the founding members of the Please Don’t Destroy comedy troupe, who joined the show in 2021, and newcomers Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, and Veronika Slowikowska.

On the new cast members, Fineman said, “When I saw how young the new cast was, I immediately got a laser [facelift].”

Fineman says she’s excited to parody some of the political people when the new season comes around.
