Refresh for latest: The Costume Designers Guild is handing out its 27th annual CDG Awards tonight at the Wilshire Ebell in Los Angeles, and Deadline is posting the winners live as they are revealed.
The nominees for this year’s marquee film awards — Contemporary, Period and Sci-Fi/Fantasy — range from blockbusters including Wicked, Gladiator II, Dune: Part Two and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice to indie hits and awards-season pics Emilia Pérez, Conclave and The Substance. See the full nominees list here.
Since the guild launched its awards show in 1999, the Academy Award for Costume Design has gone to a period film every year but thrice, with only Mad Max: Fury Road (2016), Black Panther (2019) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2023) bucking the trend. Poor Things continued that run last year, snagging the Oscar after winning the CDG prize.

The Costume Designers Guild is teaming with other IATSE locals to support those affected by last month’s devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. In support of the IATSE Emergency Relief Fund, tonight’s CDGA is adding an online auction of rare pop culture and entertainment collectibles, featuring extraordinary items provided by members of the costume community. Proceeds from the auction will go directly to the relief fund. You can see the items here or donate to the fund directly here.
“Our community has been through so much and we believe in using our platforms to benefit those affected,” CDG Executive Director Brigitta Romanov said recently. “We also are convinced of their ultimate strength and resilience over adversity.”
