Emma Meisel (Please Don’t Feed the Children), Ignacio Diaz-Silverio (Primo) and Bill O’Neill (The Running Man) have joined Téa Leoni and Tim Daly as series regulars in the upcoming NBC comedy series Newlyweds. Jamie Lee Curtis was also previously announced as a recurring guest star.
From writer, showrunner and executive producer Gail Lerner, Newlyweds is a later-in-life love story about a free-spirited woman and a buttoned-up professor who marry impetuously after a whirlwind courtship.
Meisel and Diaz-Silverio will play Poppy and Lolo, respectively. They are Jeanie’s kids (Leoni), with Lolo being adopted.
O’Neill will play Arvid, who is James’ assistant (Daly) in the philosophy department at the University of Oslo.

Newlyweds was ordered to series in May alongside the David Boreanaz-led The Rockford Files, Line of Fire starring Peter Krause, and the Jake Johnson comedy Sunset P.I.
In addition to Lerner, executive producers also include Eric and Kim Tannenbaum for The Tannenbaum Company, Jamie Lee Curtis, Scott Schwartz, and Lionsgate Television. Director Pam Fryman also executive produces (pilot only). The series is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
Meisel most recently starred in director Destry Allyn Spielberg’s debut film, Please Don’t Feed the Children, opposite Michelle Dockery and Giancarlo Esposito. Additionally, she co-starred in the Disney+ series Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. She’ll next be seen in the feature film Molting from writer/director Kendra Baude. Prior credits include American Horror Story, The Dead Girls Detective Agency and The Kids Are Alright. She is repped by Innovative Artists and MGMT Entertainment.
Diaz-Silverio co-starred in the Amazon series Primo, from Shea Serrano and Mike Schur, for which he won the 2024 Imagen Award for Best Actor in a Television Comedy. His upcoming projects include Nimrods, which premiered at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival, Young Men and 52ndState. Previous credits include the Zach Braff film A Good Person and roles on Law & Order: SVU, FBI, and The Good Fight. He is repped by Gersh and Untitled Entertainment.
O’Neill is a comedic performer whose show, The Amazing Banana Brothers, earned him an Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe. In film and television, he is a co-creator of the FX show Two Pink Doors and is featured in Edgar Wright’s The Running Man. He is repped by United Talent Agency and Venture Entertainment Partners.
