The semi-annual January-June 2026 What We Watched Netflix viewership report released Thursday featured two scripted series in the Top 20 which are still waiting to hear their fate, newcomer Man On Fire at No.8 with 40.4 million views and Season 3 of XO, Kitty at No.16 with 29.3M.
The action drama starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II amassed its tally over two months, from its April 30 release through June 30; the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before spinoff series starring Anna Cathcart did it over three months, following its April 2 premiere.
There is little doubt over the fate of another April release, Season 2 of Tom Segura’s dark comedy Bad Thoughts, which managed just 3M views to rank No. 830 in the report.

The delay in the decision for XO, Kitty is especially notable as the YA comedy had been enjoying quick renewals, with the Season 2 and Season 3 pickups both coming less than a month after the previous season had been released.
Three and a half months after the Season 3 debut, the future of the show, produced by Awesomeness, now part of Paramount Television Studios, remains uncertain.
There have been positive signs. I hear PTVS has extended Netflix’s option, giving the streamer more time to make a renewal decision, with a movie to wrap up Kitty’s (Cathcart) story or a fourth season — in the same or new setting for Kitty — among the options considered. Additionally, the studio has extended the cast’s options, keeping the actors available should Netflix go for more.
The ongoing conversations are believed to be creative. There had been chatter that series creator Jenny Han, author of the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before book trilogy, may be leaning toward a three-season-run for XO, Kitty similar to her hit Prime Video series The Summer I Turned Pretty and the three-movie format of To All the Boys.
A movie finale for XO, Kitty would also mirror TSITP, which is tying up stories with a film followup. (Netflix is doing the same with another YA title, Heartstopper, also after 3 seasons.)
Season 3 of XO, Kitty ended with Kitty reconciling with enemy-turned-friend-turned-love interest Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee) and both heading to the U.S. for him to meet her dad. In an interview with Deadline following the Season 3 release, XO, Kitty‘s most recent showrunner Valentina Garza would not address a potential fourth season but indicated that the Season 3 arc of To All the Boys star Lana Condor, who reprised her role as Kitty’s older sister Lara Jean, made the spinoff “complete.”
“It felt really exciting for these two worlds to intersect — the To All the Boys world with Lara Jean and Min Ho’s world,” she said. “It would not have felt really complete, I think, if Laura Jean had been there and never really intersected with Min Ho, who is really what all of this was all about.”
Amid declining ratings for many of Netflix’s returning series, XO, Kitty has held up well, with its third season opening to 12.9 million views, not far off its Season 2 launch week delivery of 14.2M views.
The uncertainty over Man On Fire is somewhat puzzling given its performance. The series, loosely based on the novel by A. J. Quinnell, spent five weeks in Netflix’s Top 10 for English series, the first two at No.1. Yet there had been chatter than the show, from New Regency and Chernin Entertainment, may not continue. Discussions continue, with a final decision TBD.
There are two other new scripted series listed as “Season 1″s, not limited series, on What We Watched, Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials (#20, 28.6M) and Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen (#48, 20.3M). Netflix has designated both as limited series, meaning that they will stay with their original installments.
