Christina Applegate has shared a message after reports she was hospitalized.
In a new social media post, the Married with Children alum expressed gratitude for all the messages of support and promised to share more updates soon.
“Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes,” read the post on Instagram. “Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick and I’m getting stronger and better every day.”
She continued, “I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough.”
Applegate was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2021, and in her podcast, she recalled that it was while filming the Netflix series Dead to Me when she experienced her first symptoms.

“I remember falling that day. Hi, first sign of MS!” she said to the show’s creator Liz Feldman on Applegate and Jamie-Lynn Sigler’s MeSsy podcast, recounting a scene that featured her character Jen running across a field.
Feldman noted, “I remember you losing your balance a couple of times but it was very hard to figure out. I remember one time it was like really late at night, we’d been shooting probably 14 or 15 hours, it seemed completely reasonable that anybody would be collapsing.”
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Applegate said that she will probably not work in front of a camera again, but open to voice over work.
“Ping-pong is so much more fun when the other person is just as good as you are. I’m probably not going to work on-camera again, but I’m so glad that I went out with someone who is by far the greatest actress I’ve ever worked with in my entire life, if not the greatest human I’ve ever known,” Applegate told the publication.
She added, “I can’t even imagine going to set right now. This is a progressive disease. I don’t know if I’m going to get worse. I can do voiceover stuff because I have to support my family and keep my brain working.”
