New adventures lie in wait for the cast and characters of Netflix’s live-action One Piece television series.
Season 3 of the show, based on the Eiichiro Oda’s popular manga series, received its official title: One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta April 7. The third season renewal came from Netflix in August 2025, far out from Season 2’s premiere.

Will there be new characters in Season 3 of One Piece?
Yes. Deadline broke the news in November 2025 that Tony winner Cole Escola (Oh Mary!, At Home with Amy Sedaris) had been cast as the fan-favorite season regular Bon Clay (aka Bentham, aka Mr. 2 Bon Kurei). A master of performance and precision, Bon Clay is as dangerous as they are dazzling — a theatrical assassin who turns combat into art. Xolo Maridueña’s casting as Portgas D. Ace was announced that same day.
Portgas D. Ace is a pivotal character in the manga mythology and the adopted older brother of Luffy. He’s also son of the late Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. He was a member of the Whitebeard Pirates and was the captain of the Spade Pirates before that.
Later on in November, Awdo Awdo and Daisy Head (Shadow and Bone, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves) boarded Season 3 in the roles of Mr. 1 and Miss Doublefinger.
Who will be back in One Piece Season 3?
The returning Straw Hat crew includes Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Charithra Chandran will also return as Miss Wednesday. Season 2 cast who have been upped to series regulars in Season 3 includes Mikaela Hoover as Chopper, Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefartari Cobra.
Who is behind One Piece Season 3?
The show is created in partnership with Shueisha and is produced by Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partner) and Netflix. Matt Owens and Joe Tracz serve as co-showrunners, writers and executive producers of Season 2, with Tracz teaming with Ian Stokes on Season 3. Additional executive producers include Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements through Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe and Steven Maeda.
