‘SkyMed’ Season 4 Trailer Takes Flight; Launch Date On Paramount+ Revealed

EXCLUSIVE: SkyMed is returning to the Paramount+ runway on May 21.

Season 4 of the series about air ambulance crews in northern Canada is cleared for takeoff and will ascend on Paramount+ in Canada, the U.S, the UK, Latin America and Brazil, Australia, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria in just over a month. You can watch an exclusive trailer above.

Filmed in North Bay, Ontario and Manitoba, the eight-part season finds the crew disrupted like never before, as the arrival of new rookie pilots and medics unsettles the dynamic and its leaders begin losing control, rookies push limits, and emotions override protocol.

“This isn’t a training flight anymore… it’s an emergency,” the new recruits are told in the trailer, as a plane jolts forward, propeller appearing to fail. Concerned, young faces peer back before the trailer cuts to a montage.

Watch on Deadline

Returning series regulars include Natasha Calis as Hayley, Morgan Holmstrom as Crystal, Mercedes Morris as Lexi, Sydney Kuhne as Stef and Aaron Ashmore as Wheezer.

As we first reported last September, new for Season 4 is Lauren Lee Smith, who joins in a recurring role as Captain Riley, a globe-trotting pilot with a past connection to Wheezer. Additional newcomers include Shawn Ahmed as flight nurse Zay Patel, Leishe Meyboom as rookie flight nurse Piper Adler, Alexander Eling as first officer Wyatt Ellis, and Cecilia Lee as pilot Maya Chang.

Piazza Entertainment is producing the Julie Puckrin-created show in association with Paramount+ in Canada and CBS Studios. Puckrin used the inspiration of her sister and brother-in-law, who met flying air ambulances, as a basis for the series. She also serves as executive producer, along with Gillian Hormel and Vanessa Piazza. Effy Papadopoulos is producer. Co-producers are Lawren Bancroft-Wilson and Manitoba’s Bonus Production Services. Paramount Global Content Distribution sells the show internationally.
