They’re calling it Bollywood like you’ve never seen before.
Netflix just dropped a trailer for The Ba***ds of Bollywood, the seven-episode series from Red Chillies Entertainment that will be Aryan Khan‘s directorial debut.
The series follows Aasmaan Singh (Lakshya), an ambitious newcomer with big dreams, who attempts to conquer Bollywood with the help of his loyal best friend Parvaiz (Raghav Juyal), sharp-tongued manager Sanya (Anya Singh) and ever-supportive family – his uncle Avtar (Manoj Pahwa), mother Neeta Singh (Mona Singh), and father Rajat Singh (Vijayant Kohli). He finds himself up against his biggest challenge yet, superstar Ajay Talvar (Bobby Deol), when he is cast opposite Talvar’s daughter, Bollywood newcomer Karishma (Sahher Bambba). Manish Chaudhari and Rajat Bedi also star, with the likes of Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan, SS Rajamouli, Badshah, Disha Patani also appearing.
“I came here to be an actor… but I never thought I’d have to do this much acting,” says Singh, as the world spirals out of control around him. Netflix says the show will be a “mix of sharp one-liners and unapologetically larger-than-life moments” – a self-aware saga that explores what happens when ambition and ego collide.
