EXCLUSIVE: Dylan Clark Productions, producer of The Batman and its hit limited series offshoot The Penguin, has appointed John-Eric Capps to serve as its new Executive Vice President of Television.
Capps joins from Sister (Black Doves, Eric), the independent studio founded by Liz Murdoch and Jane Featherstone, where he served as Vice President of Development. In his new role, Capps will oversee DCP’s growing television slate, while expanding the company’s relationships with top-tier partners and studios.
In a statement to Deadline, DCP’s CEO and Founder Dylan Clark called Capps “a rare talent whose passion for storytelling, deep industry relationships and boots-on-the-ground hustle, make him a producer poised to grow our TV business. Added the producer, “His understanding of today’s evolving media landscape is invaluable as we continue to make premium, globally resonant content. We are thrilled to welcome him to the DCP family.”
Capps spent a little more than three years at Sister, prior to that serving as Head of TV at John Lesher’s production company, Le Grisbi Productions, where he produced FX’s The Premise and worked on Max’s Tokyo Vice.

“Dylan Clark Productions has a rich history of producing bold, thought-provoking stories that truly resonate with audiences, and I’m excited to explore new ways to build on that legacy,” Capps said. “I am looking forward to this next chapter together and the compelling, ambitious projects in our future.’
Dylan Clark Productions is coming off a banner year, with its pop culture phenomenon The Penguin, starring Colin Farrell and produced alongside Matt Reeves, which earned 38 nominations and nine wins this awards season. Along with DreamWorks, the company is also responsible for Carry-On, the critically acclaimed TSA thriller starring Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman, which quickly landed on the streamer’s All-Time Top Ten list, securing the third spot alongside another DCP film, Bird Box, which holds the fifth spot.
Currently, DCP has a TV deal with Max. At Amazon, the company is developing The Accomplice, an adaptation of the book from bestseller Lisa Lutz, with Lily Collins attached to star and Olivia Milch writing. DCP is also adapting The Arc of a Scythe by Neal Shusterman into a television series for Peacock. Next up for DCP on the film side is The Batman II, with director Reeves and star Robert Pattison returning.
