It’s official — Paramount+ has renewed MobLand for a third season ahead of crime drama’s Season 2 premiere on Sept. 18. Also confirmed is the return of Tom Hardy as the Harrigan family’s loyal fixer Harry da Souza alongside Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren as the crime family’s patriarch and matriarch Conrad and Maeve Harrigan.
MobLand, which was renewed for a second season last year after logging Paramount+’s second biggest launch for an original series behind Landman, was headed for another easy renewal with a writers room up and running by May.
However, things got complicated by a behind-the-scenes drama involving lead Hardy, who also serves as executive producer. He seemed on his way out after friction between him and the series’ writer, executive producer and showrunner Jez Butterworth during production on Season 2 had escalated to a point where the two could no longer work together.

In the end, cool heads prevailed. As Deadline reported a month ago, back-channeling efforts led to a meeting in London between Hardy, Butterworth and series executive producer David C. Glasser where they hashed things out and, with executive producer Guy Ritchie also pitching in, Hardy’s return was secured, paving the way to a Season 3 renewal.
In Season 2 of MobLand, produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, the Harrigans struggle to show a unified front as rising rivals threaten their fractured criminal empire – and Harry Da Souza (Hardy), their street-smart and formidable ‘fixer,’ must walk a dangerous tightrope when tensions within the family intensify. As violence spills into every corner of their lives, loyalties snap, safety proves temporary, and the battle for power leaves no room for mercy.
Alongside Hardy, Brosnan and Mirren, Season 2 also stars Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Teddie Allen, Emmett J. Scanlan, Johnny Flynn, Ophelia Lovibond, Janet McTeer, and Toby Jones.
MobLand is executive produced by Glasser, Ritchie, Butterworth, Hardy, Ivan Atkinson, Dean Baker, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari and Keith Cox.
Following its Sept. 18 premiere on Paramount+, new episodes from MobLand‘s ten-episode second season will be available to stream weekly on Fridays, culminating in the season finale on Nov. 20.
