Meghan McCain Reacts To Getting Namedropped On ‘The View’ By Guest Co-Host Sheryl Underwood: “I Wish Her Luck”

Meghan McCain is sharing her thoughts after being namedropped on The View by guest co-host Sheryl Underwood.

The former View co-host has a complicated relationship with the ABC talk show following her tenure as the conservative voice at the “Hot Topics” table.

On the episode that aired Tuesday, March 10, the co-hosts discussed Lindsey Graham and his unwavering support for Donald Trump amid the war in Iran. Graham even suggested getting involved in taking military action in Cuba, to which Whoopi Goldberg asked, “Who in your family is going to do all this fighting? I want to be clear about this, Lindsey, you’re throwing lives around, people’s fathers and sons and brothers. Where’s your contribution?”

Former The Talk co-host, Underwood, added, “I don’t know this Lindsey Graham. I know the Lindsey Graham who was friends with the great John McCain. I think Meghan McCain is absolutely right to tell him you need to shut up right now, because you’re talking out the side of your neck.”

Joy Behar seemed to think that Underwood misspoke when naming Meghan McCain, after the clip showed conservative activist Megyn Kelly denouncing Graham.

In a post on X, Meghan McCain denounced Graham, saying, “I’ve known Lindsey Graham since I was a child. I am imploring anyone who will listen in the Trump administration to stop sending this man out as a surrogate. He is scaring people and doing damage to whatever message you’re trying to sell to the American public about the Iran war.”

After Underwood namedropped McCain, the Citizen McCain podcast host shared a statement with EW, saying, “I appreciate Sheryl’s kind words. I have been a fan of hers for a long time ever since meeting her when I was a guest on The Talk many years ago, where she shared with me she is a Republican. I wish her luck co-hosting The View, she is a TV icon!”

McCain is not the biggest fan of The View after she left the show in 2021. In 2024, McCain called The View a “radical progressive insane asylum.” In 2023, she called the co-hosts “crazy old people” and said “there’s not a chance in hell” she would ever return to the show.
