NFL Wide Receiver Rondale Moore Dies At 25

Rondale Moore, the NFL wide receiver who played for Arizona, Atlanta and Minnesota, has died by apparent suicide. He was 25.

The athlete, who suffered season-ending knee injuries the past two seasons, was found dead on Saturday from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Associated Press.

Police in New Albany, Indiana, Moore’s hometown, discovered the former Vikings player’s body in the garage of a local property, the outlet reported. Police chief Todd Bailey said an investigation is underway, with Floyd County Coroner Matthew Tomlin performing an autopsy on Sunday.

Born June 9, 2000 in New Albany, Moore had a successful college football career at Purdue University, before he was recruited by the Arizona Cardinals during the second round of the 2021 NFL draft, playing three seasons of his four-year rookie contract before he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons for the 2024 season.

Watch on Deadline

Moore was placed on the injured reserved during a knee injury at training camp in March 2024, ending his time with the Falcons.

After signing a one-year, $2 million contract with the Minnesota Vikings last year, Moore suffered another season-ending knee injury during a March 2025 preseason game against the Houston Texans.
