A fierce and fiery battle is underway in a divided House Targaryen in Season 3 of House of the Dragon. HBO released the first trailer Thursday, giving us a glimpse of what’s to come.
“The king has abdicated the throne,” says Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell). “A new line is coming. A new line of unsullied kings.”
The brutal Ballet of the Gullet is expected to be a big piece of the action in Season 3. It picks up following Season 2, with the official start of the brutal civil war within House Targaryen, triggered by the death of Prince Lucerys Velaryon at the end of Season 1.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen.
