‘Peaky Blinders’ Maker Kudos Invests In ‘Sex Education’ Producer’s Indie

Peaky Blinders producer Kudos has invested in Senti Films, the indie run by Sex Education producer Rem Conway.

Kudos has made an undisclosed investment in Senti and the pair will work on projects together. Conway is already a development producer for Kudos Knight, the Birmingham-based Kudos hub launched by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, who champions production in the West Midlands. Conway will retain this role alongside running Senti.

Banijay, which owns Kudos, said Senti “already has a project in funded development with a major broadcaster with other ideas gaining early tractions.” We understand the Kudos-Senti deal is an investment and not a minority stake.

Multi-hyphenate Conway’s credits include Sex Education, Riches and My Name is Leon. He is working on a slate across TV, film and theater that champions underrepresented, local voices in the West Midlands. He previously optioned Nathan Queeley-Dennis’ Edinburgh play Bullring Techno Makeout Jamz with Kudos Knight.

Conway said he is “ridiculously excited” about the investment. “Senti was built to offer a creative home to talent where they are genuinely trusted, backed and given the freedom to be ambitious,” he added. “Too often, I’ve witnessed incredible voices held back by a lack of access and long-term support, and we all so desperately want to see a more inclusive industry. Senti Films exists to actively push that change forward. Having Kudos on board is a huge vote of confidence.”

Martin Haines, who co-runs Kudos, called Conway a “hugely talented producer, who is doing brilliant work in developing Kudos Knight’s slate, and we want to simultaneously support his own creative ambitions in the region.”

Kudos is making the two new seasons of Peaky Blinders and is also behind House of Guinness and SAS Rogue Heroes, all of which are created by Steven Knight.
