A second season of Love is Blind: Habibi and a TV version of hit YouTube film-turned feature AlKhallat+ have been unveiled on a Netflix slate from the MENA region.
The projects that “champion bold voices and authentic tales from across the Arab world” have just been revealed at an event, with more Netflix events from around the world coming later this week.
Love is Blind: Habibi, the popular iteration of the hit Netflix franchise, is returning for a second season along with a fourth run of Dubai Bling.
Egyptian star Noor Alghandour is, meanwhile, returning to Netflix after the hit Honeymoonish with romcom Love in Slow Motion, which sees protagonist Haya’s world turned upside down by her best friend Jawad’s (Ali Kakooli) sudden engagement.

AlKhallat+ is a full series version of the movie that evolved from a YouTube hit that got more than 1.5 billion views across social platforms. “As city dwellers step far outside their comfort zones, they soon discover that the desert has its own rules, and its own dry sense of humor,” reads the synopsis. The show stars Mohammed Aldokhei, Ziyad Alamri, Malik Nejer, Fahad Amutairi (Abo Sallo), Abdullah Aldrees, Freas Almubaraki, Ali Kalthami, and poets Manee Bin Shalhat and Saeed Bin Manee.
Elsewhere, Netflix MENA has greenlit another TV show, Chasing Shadows, about a master con artist who reinvents deception as an art form. There is also Obsess, a psychological horror starring Yagoub Alfarhan alongside Haya Abdel Salam about a man returning to confront the ghosts of his past.
From the Ashes: The Pit launches in three days’ time and expands from the first movie as the characters “enter a new chapter shaped by shifting loyalties, unspoken pain and the emotional aftermath of the fire that once bound them together.”
Netflix will be unveiling slates in Asia, CEE, Spain and Italy throughout the week.
