Jimmy Kimmel Wants Donald Trump To Keep His Word After Kennedy Center Honors Ratings Flop: “Back To Mar-A-Lago You Go!”

Jimmy Kimmel slapped back at Donald Trump‘s hosting brags last night, updating his late-night audience on the president’s holiday endeavors, including a low-rated gig hosting the Kennedy Center Honors.

“After boasting about what a great host he is – and how much better he is than I am – and how huge his ratings would be – Trump hosted the lowest-rated Kennedy Center Honors telecast of all time,” Kimmel said. “Let me tell you something, I’d hate to be the White House intern who had to tear that headline out of all the papers and eat `em.

“You know,” Kimmel continued, “as I recall, he said he would step down if this happened, right? He said, ‘If I can’t beat out Jimmy Kimmel, then I don’t think I should be president.’ Well, hey! A deal is a deal! Back to Mar-A-Lago you go!”

As reported by Deadline last month, Trump told reporters: “We have never had a president hosting the awards before. This is the first. I’m sure they’ll give me great reviews, right? You know, they’ll say he was horrible. He was terrible. It was a horrible situation. No, we’ll do fine.”

The president then went on to say that he has “watched some of the people that host. Jimmy Kimmel was horrible, and some of these people. If I can’t beat out Jimmy Kimmel in terms of talent, then I don’t think I should be president.”

On last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host also poked fun at Trump’s self-aggrandizing take on Santa Claus (the president repeatedly told kids who called the Santa Tracker Hotline how many votes he got in their states) and mocked Trump’s Christmas Day greeting to Americans: ““Merry Christmas to all, including the many sleazebags who loved Jeffrey Epstein.”

“Leave it to Trump,” said Kimmel, “to wish a Merry Christmas to himself.”
