Netflix is revisiting the fatal case of dangerous “rom-conman” John Meehan with its next true crime entry.
The upcoming docuseries Dirty John reveals a portrait of the titular predatory bachelor, whose twisted story of manipulation, harassment and psychological abuse captivated the country in the 2010s after conning a woman and her children ultimately led to his violent downfall.
Billed as “the definitive documentary series of the man behind the myth,” the Emma Cooper-helmed doc uses never-before-seen archival materials, chilling evidence and powerful testimony from the women who survived and the investigators who worked to piece together what happened.
The Meehan case was the subject of the 2018 Bravo series Dirty John, based on the Christopher Goffard podcast of the same name, starring Eric Bana as Meehan.
