Peter Wyles, the former Future Studios program chief, has set up the UK’s newest production house.
Nuntius Studios has been created alongside Blink Films, the British producer doc Hitler’s DNA: Blueprint of a Dictator, ran on Channel 4 this month.
Wyles will be founder and Creative Director at Nuntius, which will focus on history, science, true crime and factual entertainment genres for broadcasters, streamers and digital platforms. Blink, which is part of Tin Roof Media, will provide back-office support and collaborate on co-production opportunities and other connections between the companies.
Wyles is known for a nine-year spell at Future Studios, originally known as Barcroft Studios. There he created and exec produced shows such as Real Time Crime for ID and HBO Max), Danny Koker’s Ultimate Rides for History, The Day the Dinosaurs Died for the BBC and PBS, Attack on Pearl Harbor: Minute by Minute for Channel 5, Nat Geo and Netflix, Vanished: The Lucie Blackman Mystery for Prime Video and Amazing Interiors for Netflix. He also worked at September Films and DCD Media.

Blink, meanwhile, is one of the UK’s most established producers. Run by Dan Chambers and Justine Kershaw, it has recently made shows such as Hitler’s DNA, Terror on the Space Station, Pile Up: World’s Biggest Crash Test, The Wimbledon Killer, Diddy: Making of a Bad Boy and Wham: Last Christmas Unwrapped, which was for the BBC and Netflix last year.
“Peter Wyles is one of the most talented executive producers in the non-scripted world and we are all very excited to be partnering with him in Nuntius,” said Blink co-founders and Creative Directors Chambers and Kershaw in a statement. “We see a lot of synergies between the two companies and have identified opportunities where both companies can benefit through this new relationship.”
“We set up Nuntius to deliver popular, entertaining and high-quality unscripted content to broadcasters and streamers across the fast-evolving media landscape,” said Wyles. “Dan and Justine have an amazing track record of delivering long-running hits and high-profile factual specials, frequently with multiple international co-production partners. I’m thrilled to be joining forces with them and everyone at Blink to help achieve my vision for Nuntius.”
The UK’s production sector has seen significant contraction over recent years, especially for smaller and mid-sized independents. However, there have been some green shoots and ambition among indie producers is growing. Last week, Zig Zag Productions launched a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for film, TV and sports alongside Seventy7Ventures.
