‘Local sprinkles’

Finke was in town to speak directly with Spanish producers. He outlined how SkyShowtime, which counts Comcast and Paramount as parents and only operates in Europe, was approaching the future.

“We sometime refer to the content strategy as ‘global content with local sprinkles.’ We can lean on this great pipeline of really great global shows. The local sprinkles are what makes us more European and relatable. Hopefully we’ve been a good partner to the local production communities.

Finke noted ShowShowtime has launched around 30 originals since launch in September 2022. He added that the plan was to launch between 2-3 shows out of Spain each year.
