EXCLUSIVE: Actress, director and producer Tasha Smith has signed with Rain Management Group for representation.
Smith was most recently seen starring as Marley in Michelle Buteau’s Netflix comedy series Survival of the Thickest, and as a director she most recently helmed episodes of The Rookie, The Equalizer and Harlem.
She is known for her role as the fiery Angela in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married? and its sequel Why Did I Get Married Too?. She continued the role for several seasons on Perry’s OWN spin-off series For Better or Worse, for which she earned an NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series.
Her additional on-screen credits include Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Lee Daniels’ The Deliverance, and Twinless, which earned the Audience Award at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. She also appeared in Dolemite Is My Name, Jumping the Broom, Addicted, Couples Retreat, and The Whole Ten Yards. She most recently starred in and executive produced Lifetime’s provocative original film Desire: A Temptation Story.

As a director, Smith also has helmed episodes of Mayor of Kingstown, P-Valley, BMF, 9-1-1, Harlem, Bel- Air, The Ms. Pat Show, and Black Lightning. She directed and executive produced the pilots for BMF and Our Kind of People, and made her feature directorial debut with When Love Kills, which earned her an NAACP Image Award nomination.
Additionally, Smith is committed to mentoring emerging actors through her Tasha Smith Actors Workshop (TSAW).
