Comic-Con 2025 Photos: Best Of Panels, Activations, Cosplay & Convention Floor

San Diego Comic-Con 2025 officially kicked off this week, drawing an immense crowd of super fans dedicated to all things comics, movies, television, gaming, and books. This annual event, globally recognized as the largest comic convention, continues to shatter attendance records, attracting a star-studded lineup of creators, actors, and industry professionals from across the entertainment spectrum.

Comic-Con has been a whirlwind of exciting announcements, particularly in the realm of upcoming movies and TV shows. Horror fans received big news with Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 confirming a December 5, 2025, release and promising even more animatronics, while The Toxic Avenger reboot unveiled an August 29 wide release. Disney+ made a splash with Percy Jackson and the Olympians, showcasing a new teaser for Season 2 and a December 10, 2025, release, also confirming casting for Season 3 characters. 

Other highly anticipated series, including The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (with a Season 3 trailer), an emotional panel for Outlander as it concludes with Season 8, and its prequel Outlander: Blood of My Blood, all offered new teases.”

As Comic-Con takes over, downtown San Diego has undergone a remarkable transformation, morphing into a vibrant pop culture wonderland. The streets are alive with an array of attractions, including themed activations from HBO, Disney, Paramount+, Shudder, and Peacock, Crunchyroll’s Anime Fanfest, unique experiences, and exclusive pop-up restaurants where major studios unveil their latest and most exciting projects.

While some of the biggest names in Hollywood like Marvel, DC, and Lucasfilm have reportedly scaled back their film panels this year, a number of other studios are stepping up to fill the void with major announcements and first looks. The highly anticipated return of George Lucas to Hall H for the first time is a major draw, where he will be joined by Guillermo del Toro to discuss the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art.

Fans are getting sneak peeks at the new seasons of popular shows like Paramount+’s Star Trek , Prime Video’s Gen V, and HBO Max’s Peacemaker. There’s also a world premiere of the new FX series Alien: Earth, a new adaptation from the horror franchise.

The big screen is getting a spotlight with panels for Tron: Ares, starring Joachim Rønning and the cast; the Ryan Gosling-led sci-fi film Project Hail Mary; and Dan Trachtenberg’s latest, Predator: Badlands
