‘Law & Order: SVU’ Ups Aimé Donna Kelly To Series Regular For Season 27

EXCLUSIVE: We’ll be seeing more of Captain Curry on Law & Order: SVU. Aimé Donna Kelly, who has heavily recurred as the character since 2020, has been promoted to series regular for the upcoming season.

Kelly’s Curry, formerly with IAB, has been brought over to help Captain Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her team at SVU. She has appeared in 29 episodes over the past five seasons.

Law & Order: SVU, renewed for its record 27th season in May, will premiere this fall. Starring Hargitay and her second-in-command Ice-T as Sgt. Odafin “Fin” Tutuola, the procedural chronicles the lives of the Special Victims Unit of the New York City Police Department, an elite squad of detectives who investigate crimes of sexual assault, child abuse and domestic violence.  Kelli Giddish, Peter Scanavino and Kevin Kane also star.

Dick Wolf is creator and executive producer. David Graziano, Julie Martin, Mariska Hargitay, Norberto Barba, Kenneth Brown, Arthur Forney and Peter Jankowski executive produce.

Kelly recently wrapped work on the upcoming Prime Video series The Greatest, from executive producer Michael B. Jordan and executive producer/showrunner Ben Watkins. Kelly portrays trailblazing civil rights icon and attorney Alberta Jones in the series, which features defining moments in Muhammed Ali’s life and career. Kelly also has guest starred on Chicago MedThe BlacklistFor LifeBlue Bloods, and The Sinner, and has appeared on stage at The Kennedy Center, Goodman Theatre and Berkeley Rep. She is repped by Stewart Talent and managed by Lori Kay of Prevail Artist Entertainment.
