The Television Academy just pissed off a large swathe of voters in Los Angeles by revealing that it is announcing nominations for two major Primetime Emmy Awards categories earlier than expected.

The Academy just sent a note out to studios and networks informing them that the late-night and reality categories would be revealed live on CBS at 4:47 a.m. PT, four hours before the rest of the nominations.

“We just wanted to share that the categories of Outstanding Reality Competition Program and Outstanding Talk Series will be announced EARLY tomorrow morning on CBS Mornings at around 7:47am EDT in their What To Watch segment. Please inform your teams as needed,” a note from the “Talent Relations Team” noted.

Why these two categories? Well, they’re likely to be two of only three categories that CBS, which is airing this year’s Emmys ceremony, will get nominated in with shows such as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Amazing Race in the mix (Survivor missed out last year). Matlock’s Kathy Bates is also expected to get a nom in the lead drama actress category. Parent company Paramount is also expecting The Daily Show, from Comedy Central, to be in the talk category.

The rest of the nominations will start at 8:30 a.m. PT.
