As the Trump administration continues deporting alleged criminals without due process, John Oliver can’t help but worry for who’s next.
On this weekend’s episode of Last Week Tonight, the comedian joked that noted fishing enthusiast Henry Winkler is likely next on ICE‘s list after another man was mistakenly deported over serious crimes, when his criminal record only consisted of two speeding tickets and “a citation for catching one too many fish.”
“That is ridiculous,” Oliver declared on Sunday. “If you can be flagged for deportation for catching one too many fish, then I truly fear for Henry Winkler. We could be just days away from seeing him in an El Salvador prison, which I’m sure the White House will then justify by badly Photoshopping an MS-13 tattoo onto his neck.”

Earlier in the episode, Oliver brought up another victim of the mass deportations, of whom Trump spread a Photoshopped image of “MS-13” tattooed on his knuckles, insisting on ABC News the ink was real.
The Trump administration has recently faced scrutiny for sending more than 200 alleged gang members from Venezuela to a notorious mega-prison in El Salvador without due process.
“The homegrowns are next, the homegrowns. You’ve got to build about five more places,” said Trump last month of plans to jail U.S. citizens abroad.
