Prime Video is to stream Seasons 1-7 of President Donald Trump‘s competition show The Apprentice.
Each season of the show, which launched 20 years ago on NBC and popularized the phrase “You’re fired!”, will roll out weekly, with Season 1 launching today. Seasons will roll out until April 27.
The Apprentice, which comes from Emmy winner Mark Burnett (The Voice, Survivor, Shark Tank, Beat Shazam) and MGM Alternative, which is part of Amazon MGM Studios, will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in the U.S. only.
The program is considered a launch pad for Trump’s media personality in the States, starting back in January 2004 and averaging 20 million viewers in Season 1, which took 28 million for its finale. The series ran for 15 seasons in total, with Trump the host for the first 14. Arnold Schwarzenegger fronted the fifteenth and final run in 2017.

“The Apprentice is one of the best shows that I ever produced,” said Burnett. “The charismatic onscreen presence of President Donald J. Trump made it a bona fide hit. Now, thanks to Prime Video, a whole new audience will experience a new season every Monday. This show is a love letter to New York City. Survivor grew an entirely new massive audience as a result of old seasons being binged during the pandemic. On Monday, March 10, this same phenomenon will begin again… with The Apprentice.”
“I look forward to watching this show myself — such great memories, and so much fun, but most importantly, it was a learning experience for all of us,” said Trump, who was began his second run as President in January.
Trump and Burnett were exec producers on The Apprentice, which has been remade in numerous countries around the world. It sees 16 candidates endure rigorous tasks that challenge their intelligence and street-smarts in business to win a job with The Trump Organization and a salary of $250,000.
Prime Video acquired MGM, which owned the rights to The Apprentice, in March 2022 for $8.5B. Burnett, who created the format, left MGM later that year.
The show shouldn’t be confused with The Apprentice, Ali Abbasi’s film about Trump’s relationship with attorney Roy Cohn. Sebastian Stan was nominated for Best Actor at this month’s Academy Awards for his portrayal of a younger Trump, while Jeremy Strong was nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role as Cohn. Both missed out on the prizes at the 97th Oscars, which were held a the Dolby Theatre a week last Sunday (March 2).
