The Oscars: Best Looks From The Red Carpet

The Academy Awards presented its coveted Oscar statuettes for achievements in film at the 96th Academy Awards from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, Los Angeles on Sunday, March 10th. 

The red carpet at Hollywood’s Big Night is officially underway, with Ariana Grande, Brady Corbet, Boyd Holbrook, Denis Villeneuve, Bowen Yang, Jacki Weaver, Joan Chen, Diane Warren,  Marlee Matlin, Jeff Goldblum, June Squibb, Rachel Sennott, and Clarence Maclin among the first to arrive.

Hosted by Conan O’Brien, presenters will include Halle Berry, Sterling K. Brown, Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Ana de Armas, Robert Downey Jr., Elle Fanning, Whoopi Goldberg, Selena Gomez, Goldie Hawn, Scarlett Johansson, John Lithgow, Cillian Murphy, Connie Nielsen, Amy Poehler, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, June Squibb, Ben Stiller, Emma Stone, Oprah Winfrey, Dave Bautista, Harrison Ford, Gal Gadot, Andrew Garfield, Samuel L. Jackson, Margaret Qualley, Alba Rohrwacher, and Rachel Zegler.

The films competing for the coveted Best Picture award are Anora; The Brutalist; A Complete Unknown; Conclave; Dune: Part Two; Emila Pérez; I’m Still Here; Nickel Boys; The Substance, and Wicked.

Leading the nominations were Emila Pérez (13 nominations), The Brutalist and Wicked (10 noms), A Complete Unknown and Conclave (8 noms), and Anora (6 noms).

13 individuals are first-time nominees in the acting categories, including Sebastian Stan, Yura Borisov, Kieran Culkin, Guy Pearce, Jeremy Strong, Karla Sofía Gascón, Mikey Madison, Demi Moore, Fernanda Torres, Monica Barbaro, Ariana Grande, Isabella Rossellini, and Zoe Saldaña. Sean Baker, Brady Corbet, James Mangold, Jacques Audiard, and Coralie Fargeat are first-time director nominees.

I’m Still Here, starring Fernanda Torres, marks the first Brazilian Best Picture nominee. If Torres wins Best Actress, she’ll break further ground as the first Latina to claim the award. The film carries a legacy, too: it’s directed by Walter Salles, who also directed Torres’s mother, Fernanda Montenegro, to a Best Actress nomination for Central Station in 1999. Wicked and Emilia Pérez also secured Best Picture nods, marking the first dual musical nomination since 1968.

The Oscars will air live on ABC and stream live on Hulu on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, with the official live red carpet show airing at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT.
