Peabody Awards Sets 2025 Ceremony Date In Return To L.A.

The 2025 Peabody Awards will take place June 1 at the Beverly Wilshire in a return to Los Angeles for a second year, organizers said Wednesday. Nominations for the awards, in their 85th year, will be announced in April, with winners to be revealed in May.

The Peabodys, the program based at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia that honors content from emerging voices that reflects the pressing social issues of the day, also said its new Board of Jurors chair this year is Dr. Dana Heller, author and Dean of the College of Arts at Eastern Michigan University.

She is joined by new jury board members Cynthia McFadden, Daniel D’Addario, Michael X. Delli Carpini
and Roxana Hadadi, joining the group of media industry professionals, as well as journalists, critics and scholars, who are appointed to six-year terms.

They vote on entries in the categories of entertainment, documentary, news, podcast/radio, arts, children’s and youth, immersive and interactive media, and public service programming. A unanimous vote is required for a project to be nominated.

Last year, the Peabodys ceremony took place in L.A. for the first time in its history, with Kumail Nanjiani serving as host at the Beverly Wilshire.
