‘Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson Diagnosed With Alzheimer’s Disease

Phil Robertson has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, among several health issues.

The Duck Dynasty star’s son Jase Robertson recently detailed his father’s condition, noting that the family is trying to “make him more comfortable” as he struggles with the terminal brain disorder.

“He’s just not doing well. He’s really struggling,” said Jase on the family’s Unashamed podcast, noting that doctors have also found “some sort of blood disease that’s causing all kinds of problems. It’s accelerated and it’s causing problems with his entire body.”

Despite the Robertson patriarch’s prognosis, Phil is not letting it hold him back. “He keeps saying, ‘I’m gonna get back to the podcast,’” added Jase.

“But I’m like, ‘Well Phil, you can barely walk around without crying out in pain, and your memory is not what it once was.’ He’s like, ‘Tell me about it,’” he explained. “So he is literally unable to—I think he would agree—to just sit down and have a conversation.”

Jase said the family is “trying to do a lot of things to figure out how to make him more comfortable, and maybe help with his memory. We’ve got a team of doctors and they’re all in agreement that there’s no curing what he has. And so, what do you do? We’re trying to make him a little more comfortable.”

The Duck Commander founder and his family rose to fame on their A&E reality series Duck Dynasty, which ran for 11 seasons from 2012 to 2017.
