Marvel Television’s Agatha All Along episode 5, titled “Darkest Hour / Wake Thy Power,” revealed Joe Locke‘s true character, Billy Kaplan/Wiccan, the son of the Scarlet Witch. This was kept a secret until episode 4. At the end of episode 5, the teen, in a fit of anger at Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), magically forces Lilia (Patti LuPone) and Jen (Sasheer Zamata) to toss Agatha into a mud trap and then blasts them in. As the witches sink, headwear resembling the Scarlet Witch’s crown appears on the teen’s head.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Locke breaks his silence on playing Billy Kaplan in Agatha All Along. Locke explains that Billy begins the show as a “familiar,” serving as a secondary character to the witches.
However, it’s later revealed that Billy is also a witch, shifting his role and importance within the group. With the ability to harm the witches, Billy becomes a powerful force in the story. His newfound strength makes him the most powerful person on the Road, raising questions about how this will impact group dynamics and his relationships with others.

Locke said, “The show starts getting real.”Locke added, “The show starts with Billy being very much the familiar, the secondary to all the witches. Now we know he is also a witch, and that changes things. Also, we now know that he has the ability to cause harm to them. Therefore, he is now the most powerful person on the Road. What does that change in the dynamic of the group and how does that change the future of those relationships?”
