Kyle Brandt On ‘Good Morning Football’ Changes Amid ESPN’s NFL Network Takeover: “Not As Far As I Know”

Kyle Brandt returned to Good Morning Football after taking some time off during the NFL off-season and addressed being part of ESPN after their takeover of the NFL Network.

“It’s great to be here. Thrilled to be here on ESPNFLNetwork. Right? That’s our deal. That’s our thing,” Brandt said at the beginning of the show on Monday, April 6.

Addressing any changes to the show now that ESPN took over the NFL Network, he said, “Not as far as I know. Not right now. Not at all. We’re going to talk football this morning. We’re going to talk football tomorrow morning. We talked football over the weekend, it’s draft season.”

“Our world is awesome right now,” he continued. “I’ve been doing this for 10 years on this show. Whatever network, whatever you wanna put us. We will be friends, talking about football, and really, only football. We are an NFL every-single-day-year-round show, on any network, any galaxy you wanna put us on, we are fired up to be here. Let’s talk about some off-season teams, let’s talk some draft… Let’s do what we’ve always done at Good Morning Football since 2016, and let’s do it for fun, because that’s what we think football is.”

Watch on Deadline

ESPN officially took over NFL Network on April 1 as part of the deal it announced back in August 2025, under which the sports broadcaster would take over alongside the RedZone Channel.

The restructuring saw five NFLN staff members transition into VP roles within the ESPN organization, which included Charlie Yook (VP, Executive Producer of Content Production), Todd Sperry (VP and Executive Editor, with a focus on NFL coverage), Jessica Lee (VP, Production Operations & Engineering, with oversight of NFL Network and its Hollywood Park facilities in Los Angeles), Tony Cole (VP, Media Operations), and Sarah Parsons joins (VP, Programming & Acquisitions, with oversight of NFL Network).

No changes to NFL Network shows are expected now amid the restructuring.

Burke Magnus (President of Content) and Rosalyn Durant (Executive Vice President, Programming & Acquisitions) shared a letter last week welcoming their new team members.

“Today we officially welcome our NFL Network colleagues to ESPN, bringing us one step closer to fully integrating and onboarding them. We are excited about how we will serve NFL fans in the future with full access to NFL Network programming and innovative fantasy experiences,” read the letter from April 1.

“We look forward to getting to know these new leaders, their teams, and learning more about their work. As we gain a deeper understanding of how NFL Network operates and is organized, please note that reporting structures may evolve.”
