If you need more SNL in your life, this may help to fill the void. Saturday Night Live is expanding its reach with The Rundown, a new short-form digital original series, featuring cast members and guests from the past and present, including Dana Carvey, Mikey Day, Chloe Fineman, Colin Jost, Bowen Yang, Questlove and more.
The series kicks off today on Peacock, SNL‘s YouTube Channel and SNL‘s social platforms (Instagram, X and Facebook). In it, guests will stop by Studio 8H to select a favorite segment from the show’s history to add to the show’s famous “Rundown” board, building an all-star episode along the way.
SNL writer and “Weekend Update” co-anchor Jost features in the premiere episode, where he breaks down the intricacies of writing the Cold Open and selects his nostalgic opener for the fantasy SNL episode. Spoiler Alert: He picks Amy Poehler and Tina Fey’s “Katie Couric Interviews Sarah Palin.” Watch “The Rundown: Colin Jost Picks A Cold Open – SNL” below.

“It’s nostalgic for me because it was early on for me as a writer,” Jost said of the sketch. “It was just a great combination of Seth [Meyers] and Tina and Amy together. You got to see them playing off each other, and I think they’re two of the best to ever do it.”
The Rundown will release new episodes on Wednesdays of SNL hiatus weeks through mid-June.
SNL returns April 4 with host Jack Black and musical guest Jack White at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT on NBC and Peacock.
Saturday Night Live is produced in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.
