‘The Head’ Exec Producer Ran Telem Exits The Mediapro Studio

Ran Telem is leaving The Head maker The Mediapro Studio.

The former Keshet exec departs his role as Head of International Development at the the international production house, which is part of Spain’s Mediapro. He has been with The Mediapro Studio in 2019, having joined Mediapro three years prior.

His exit closely follows those of Mediapro General Manager Laura Fernández Espeso and Daniel Burman, who was recently named Disney+ Latin America’s Head of Original Content. Other senior managers have left, with Mediapro now run by Carlos Núñez as CEO and Sergio Oslé as President. El Pais reported that 250 staff could be cut in Barcelona and Madrid as part of a workforce reduction plan.

“After nine years, I’m closing this chapter at Mediapro,” wrote Telem in a LinkedIn post. “It’s been an inspiring journey, it’s time to take the next one. I’m ready for new partners. New challenges.”

During his time at The Mediapro Studio, he exec produced The Head, a Spanish-Japanese-made English-language thriller series for Hulu Japan and HBO Asia.

“Over the past nine years at Mediapro, I’ve had the privilege of developing and producing international scripted and unscripted content across platforms, genres, and cultures,” said Telem.

Telem noted that during his tenure, he had worked on everything from English-language thrillers to Chilean reality shows, and for the likes of HBO, Hulu, Netflix, Canal+, Viaplay and TVE among others.
