Will Arnett’s Electric Avenue Strikes First-Look Deal With Blink49 Studios

EXCLUSIVE: Will Arnett is getting into business with some fellow Canadians.

The Arrested Development star has signed a first-look television deal, via his Electric Avenue production company, with Blink49 Studios.

The two companies will develop and produce scripted projects.

It comes after Arnett previously had a first-look scripted deal at Fox Entertainment, which was announced in June 2024. Before that, he’d been in the first-look business with Sony Pictures Television and prior to that CBS Studios.

Electric Avenue, which Arnett runs with his producing partner Marc Forman, is behind series including Twisted Metal, which was recently renewed for a third season, Netflix’s Murderville, which is based on BBC series Murder in Successville, and Bell Media’s first original animated series Super Team Canada.

It marks the latest scripted deal for Blink49, which signed a similar pact with Emma Roberts’ Belletrist Productions, which is behind Hulu hit Tell Me Lies, in December.

“Blink49 has built a reputation for backing bold ideas and giving creators the space to do their best work,” said Arnett and Forman. “We’re excited to partner with a team that shares our appetite for taking bigger creative swings, championing unique voices from around the world, and developing some of the most compelling emerging IP. We’re especially aligned in how we approach the global television business — finding inventive pathways and partnerships to getting ambitious shows greenlit.”

“Electric Avenue has consistently delivered smart, distinctive series with a strong creative point of view,” said Pancho Mansfield, President of Global Scripted Television, Blink49 Studios. “This partnership reflects our focus on working with creators who take real tonal risks and build stories that resonate deeply with audiences.”

“Will and Marc have built a world-class production company with an exceptional track record and deep global relationships,” added Carolyn Newman, EVP, Global Scripted Television, Blink49 Studios. “Electric Avenue is exactly the kind of partner we want as we continue to grow a premium, creator-led scripted slate.”
