‘Sinners’ Takes Top Film Prize & Best Song At Guild Of Music Supervisors Awards – Winners List

Warner Bros’ genre smash Sinners was the lone double winner at the 16th annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards, which were handed out Saturday night at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. The pic took Best Music Supervision in Major Budget Films and Best Song Written and/or Recorded for a Film for “I Lied to You.” See the full list below.

Raphael Saadiq, who co-wrote “I Lied to You” with Ludwig Göransson, received the guild’s Icon Award for his contributions to the music and film industry. The pair will vie for Best Song at the Academy Awards on March 15, one of the record 16 noms for Ryan Coogler’s Sinners. Saddiq also performed his song during the show.

A24’s Marty Supreme and Sony’s One of Them Days were the other film winners during the ceremony that celebrates the year’s best achievements in music supervision and songwriting.

On the TV side, prizes went to shows including Apple TV’s The Studio and Smoke FX’s The Lowdown and Peacock’s Love Island USA. The music supervisors behind the trailers for Warner Bros’ One Battle After Another and HBO’s The White Lotus also took home trophies.

Alejandro Aranda of American Idol delivered a tribute performance honoring the late longtime Idol music supervisor Robin Kaye, who was honored Legacy Award posthumously. She and her husband Thomas Deluca were shot to death in July after confronting a burglar in their Encino home.
