The time has come to meet the 22 men who will be vying for Taylor Frankie Paul’s heart on the upcoming season of The Bachelorette.
As the breakout star of Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Paul has already shared a pretty unfiltered picture of her life as a single mom of three. Now, she’ll get another shot at romance in Season 22 of the stalwart ABC dating series. Per her ABC bio, she’s looking to lead with “humor, resilience and a fearless openness” to inspire others to “embrace life’s chaos and own their story.”
This marks the first time that The Bachelorette will be led by a woman who was not previously part of the franchise in some capacity. However, there is a precedent for choosing a lead from outside the franchise, when Matt James was selected to lead The Bachelor without any prior association to the series. Paul is now the third Mormon Wives star who will appear on an ABC franchise this fall, since Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt were both cast on Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars.
Paul will have plenty of variety to choose from this season. There’s Brad, a 29-year-old cowboy and entrepreneur from Newport Beach, California; Clayton, a 36-year-old singer/songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee; Johnnie, a 30-year-old former pro baseball player from Massapequa, New York; or Shane, a 28-year-old private wealth manager from Atlanta, Georgia.
She’ll also meet Michael, a 36-year-old chiropractic healer from San Diego, California; Josh, a 28-year-old sales manager from Provo, Utah; and Brandon, a 28-year-old loan officer from Spearfish, South Dakota.
