EXCLUSIVE: Renée Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton, Girls5Eva) has joined the cast of the new CBS legal drama Cupertino, from Robert and Michelle King.
Cupertino is a David vs. Goliath legal drama set in the heart of Silicon Valley that follows Michael (Mike Colter), a lawyer who is being cheated out of his stock options by his former employer, a tech start-up. Refusing to back down, he joins forces with another recently fired attorney to represent those taken advantage of by the tech elite and help them fight back in a high-stakes battle against the Goliaths controlling Silicon Valley.
In a series regular role, she will play Renee, a brilliant opposing attorney who has a professional and romantic history with Colter’s character Michael.

The project reunites Goldsberry with Robert and Michelle King, the creators of the hit CBS series The Good Wife, where she played Geneva Pine. She also appeared in their series Evil, working alongside Colter, who led the supernatural drama.
Cupertino was picked up to series to air during the 2026-27 season, Deadline confirmed back in October. Also previously announced was the casting of Ella Stiller in the role of Christy, a young assistant at the new start-up law firm in Cupertino that’s at the heart of the story.
As previously noted, Colter has worked with the Kings onThe Good Wife, as Lemond Bishop, and Evil, as David Acosta. Currently on CBS, the Kings are the creators and executive producers of Elsbeth, a spinoff of their hit The Good Wife/The Good Fight franchise.
The husband and wife duo will write and serve as executive producers under their banner, King Size Productions, with Robert King set to direct the premiere episode. Liz Glotzer also serves as executive producer.
Goldsberry is a Tony Award and Grammy Award winner and an Emmy Award-nominated actress and singer. Her first Primetime Emmy nomination was for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her role as Angelica Schuyler in Disney’s Hamilton (2021), and two Daytime Emmy Award noms for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her work on One Life to Live (2006, 2007), in the role of Evangeline Williamson.
Her TV credits also include Netflix’s Girls5Eva, Disney+’s She-Hulk, Fox’s Ally McBeal, and Netflix’s Altered Carbon. Goldsberry is also the subject of the acclaimed 2025 documentary Satisfied, which examines her Hamilton journey alongside the emotional terrain of family-building and new motherhood.
Her Broadway credits include musicals “Hamilton,” “Rent,” “The Color Purple,” and “The Lion King.” She recently released her debut album, Who I Really Am, featuring original new music written. Goldsberry is repped by UTA, Untitled Entertainment and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
