Kiefer Sutherland Arrested In Alleged Hollywood Rideshare Driver Altercation

24 and Designated Survivor star Kiefer Sutherland was arrested early Monday following an altercation with a rideshare driver in the Hollywood area, Los Angeles police confirmed to Deadline.

LAPD officers responded to a radio call regarding an assault involving a rideshare driver near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue at around 12:15 am Monday, police said. The suspect, later identified as Sutherland, entered the vehicle and physically assaulted the driver, the LAPD said.

Sutherland was arrested on suspicion of felony criminal threats and released on $50,000 bond, according to online jail records. An initial court date is set for Feb. 2.

Neither the driver nor Sutherland was injured, according to police.

Two-time Emmy winner Sutherland most recently was filming action thriller Father Joe alongside Al Pacino and Ever Anderson. The film is written and produced by Luc Besson with Barthélémy Grossmann directing. Set in 1990s Manhattan, Sutherland plays a man of faith who wages a violent war against the city’s criminal underworld. He’s also in post on action thriller Sierra Madre, in which he stars as Captain Jordan Wright. He was most recently seen starring alongside Rebel Wilson in the Sky and Future Artists Entertainment holiday movie Tinsel Town.
