Johnny Knoxville-Hosted ‘Fear Factor’ Reboot Gets Early Premiere Date Behind NFL Wild Card Game On Fox

The series premiere of Fear Factor: House of Fear will be getting a big NFL boost. Fox has set a special advance premiere for the Johnny Knoxville-hosted reboot on January 11, immediately following the network’s coverage of the NFL wildcard game.

The Fear Factor reboot premiere will air at 8-9 PM ET/Live to all time zones immediately following the game beginning live at 4:30 PM ET/8 PM PT. On Wednesday, Jan. 14, The Masked Singer will have its time-period premiere with a special “Fear Night” themed episode at 8 PM followed by the time-period premiere of Fear Factor: House of Fear at 9 PM. Both will continue with new episodes in their respective time periods on Wednesday, Jan. 21.

Broadcast nets regularly use big NFL games to platform new and returning series. Last year, Season 3 of the Rob Lowe-hosted The Floor aired immediately following the Super Bowl on Fox.

The reimagined reality competition, based on the Endemol Shine Netherlands format Fear Factor, features 14 contestants from across the U.S.

Per the official logline: “Fear Factor is back, bigger, bolder, and more daring as Fear Factor: House of Fear! Dropped into an unforgiving, remote location, a group of strangers will live together under one roof, and face mind-blowing stunts, harrowing challenges and a twisted game of social strategy where trust is fleeting — and fear is a weapon. Only one contestant will conquer all their fears and walk away with the massive grand prize!”

Fear Factor: House of Fear is produced by Endemol Shine North America, a Banijay Americas company. Kevin Lee is an executive producer and showrunner. Anthony Carbone is an executive producer, along with Endemol Shine North America’s Sharon Levy, Michael Heyerman, and Sean Loughlin.
