Hollywood Mourns Isiah Whitlock Jr.’s Death: Director Spike Lee, ‘Veep’s Tony Hale, Niecy Nash & More

Isiah Whitlock Jr. is being remembered by Hollywood following news of his death at the age of 71.

The actor was known for his roles in The Wire, Veep, Your Honor, and The Residence. Most notably, Whitlock Jr. starred in several Spike Lee films, including Da 5 Bloods and BlacKkKlansman.

Lee took to social media to remember the late actor, posting a photo of both of them together with the caption, “Today I Learned Of The Passing Of My Dear Beloved Brother ISIAH WHITLOCK. GOD BLESS.”

The director would follow up his tribute to Whitlock Jr. by sharing a scene from 25th Hour in which the actor delivered his iconic line, “SHIEEEEEETTT.”

“My Deepest Condolences Goes Out To The Family Of Isiah Whitlock. May He Rest In Power,” Lee added.

Whitlock’s manager, Brian Liebman, honored the actor, calling him a “brilliant actor and even better person,” adding, “May his memory forever be a blessing. Our hearts are so broken. He will be very, very missed.”
