The NFL has announced its full Week 18 schedule for Saturday, Jan. 3 and Sunday, Jan. 4, and the regular season will come to a close in Pittsburgh.
The league decided to flex the win-or-go-home matchup between the Baltimore Ravens (8-8) and Pittsburgh Steelers (9-7) for the AFC North title and the conference’s No. 4 seed in the playoffs to Sunday Night Football.
Some partisans wondered at the choice.
“The NFL decided the San Francisco 49ers playing the Seattle Seahawks for the NFC’s top seed was less important than the Ravens and Steelers playing for a division title,” read a reaction post from the San Frrancisco Chronicle.
Seattle and San Francisco were relegated to the Saturday 8 p.m. ET slot on ESPN/ABC.
