Starz Drops ‘Outlander’ Teaser For Eighth & Final Season

Starz‘s 12 Days of Outlander Holiday Celebration is closing up with one final Christmas treat: A new teaser of the eighth and final season ahead of the show’s March 6 premiere. You can watch the teaser above.

New episodes will be available to stream weekly on Fridays via the Starz app and all its streaming and on-demand platforms. The first seven seasons of the passionate love story set across time are available to stream now.

The new teaser opens with a distraught Jamie hinting at the fate of the Frasers, warning fans that “nothing can prepare you for how it ends.” No one teases doom and gloom quite like Outlander, so it’s best to remain cautiously optimistic that love may conquer all in the end. It is the final season, however, and anything goes.

As Season 8 begins, Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitríona Balfe) soon find the war has followed them home to Fraser’s Ridge, now a thriving settlement that has grown and flourished in their absence. With new arrivals and changes made during their years away, the Frasers are confronted with the question of what they are willing to sacrifice for the place they call home and, more importantly, what they would sacrifice to stay together.

Watch on Deadline

While the Frasers keep a united front against outside intruders, family secrets finally coming to light threaten to tear them apart from the inside. Although they’ve left the war for America’s freedom behind, their fight for Fraser’s Ridge has only just begun.

In Season 7, as a refresher, the Frasers found themselves swept into the turmoil of the American Revolution. The season ended with Jamie’s fateful decision to resign his Continental Army commission and return to Fraser’s Ridge with Claire. Meanwhile, after an emotional family reunion, the MacKenzies needed to decide where and when to settle next, with a cliffhanger left fans questioning the true fate of Claire and Jamie’s first daughter, Faith.

All episodes from the first seven seasons are available in their entirety via Starz.

In addition to Balfe and Heughan, the show also stars Sophie Skelton as Brianna MacKenzie, Richard Rankin as Roger MacKenzie, John Bell as Young Ian Murray, David Berry as Lord John Grey, Charles Vandervaart as William Ransom and Izzy Meikle-Small as Rachel Murray.
