Daniel Stern Joins ABC Comedy Pilot ‘Do You Want Kids?’

EXCLUSIVE: Daniel Stern has been cast as a series regular opposite Rachel Bloom and Rory Scovel in ABC‘s half-hour pilot Do You Want Kids?.

The single-camera comedy, from 20th Television, is about a married couple, Rosie (Bloom) and Alex Zilbalodis (Scovel), who in one universe have a baby and the other do not, and the many ways that huge decision alters their lives.

Stern will play Freddy, the gruff patriarch of the Zilbalodis family.

Trent O’Donnell has come on board to direct the pilot, which Bloom co-wrote with her husband, film and TV writer Dan Gregor. The trio are executive producing with Steven Levitan and Danielle Stokdyk of the 20th TV-based Levitan Productions and Jeff Morton.

Stern is on everyone’s movie playlist this time of year with his signature role as Marv in the holiday classic Home Alone and its sequels. Also known for his work in City Slickers, Stern recently was a series regular on Seasons 4 and 5 of Apple TV’s sci-fi drama For All Mankind. He is repped by Buchwald and Yorn Levine.
