With the release of the Netflix documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning just days away, Netflix has dropped a new teaser, which can be found above. The four-part project will release via the streamer on December 2.
“We’re losing,” Combs tells his lawyer as the trailer begins, with the jailed former music star staring nervously at his phone in a New York City hotel room. He’s six days out from a trial that will ultimately see him jailed and the pressure is clearly on.
“We have to find someone that’ll work with us that has dealt in the dirtiest of dirty business,” he adds.
From executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and director Alexandria Stapleton, Sean Combs: The Reckoning does a deep dive into the life of Combs, better known as Diddy or Puff Daddy. Combs is currently serving a four-year sentence at the minimum security prison, Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix, New Jersey, after being convicted of two counts of transportation for prostitution.

The project’s official logline: Sean Combs: The Reckoning is a staggering examination of the media mogul, music legend, and convicted offender. Born with an insatiable drive for stardom and a knack for spotting talent, Combs made a quick ascent through the ranks of the music industry with Bad Boy Entertainment and was crucial in bringing hip-hop to the pop masses and launching the careers of dozens of generation-defining artists like The Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, and Danity Kane.
But along the way, and as detailed by his former associates, childhood friends, artists, and employees, something darker began to color his ambitions. Through explosive, never-before-seen materials, including exclusive interviews with those formerly in his orbit, this documentary tells the story of a powerful, enterprising man and the gilded empire he built — and the underworld that lay just beneath its surface.
Stapleton directs and executive produces alongside Jackson, Stacy Scripter, David Karabinas, Ariel Brozell, and Brad Bernstein. Sean Combs: The Reckoning is produced by House of Nonfiction, G-Unit Film & Television, and Texas Crew Productions.
