As Americans return to their routines after Thanksgiving, Jon Stewart returned to The Daily Show to unpack Donald Trump‘s unhinged holiday address.
Following Trump’s divisive Thanksgiving day post, in which he called Minnesota’s Gov. Tim Walz “seriously re****ed,” the comedian called out the president over the casual use of the ableist slur, which Trump doubled down shortly after.
“On Thanksgiving?! Are you confusing that with Festivus?” he reacted. “And by the way, ‘seriously re****ed?’ Not even ‘playfully re****ed’ like Mr. Bean, you know what I mean? Or not even ‘celebratorily re****ed’ like the Black Eyed Peas song? Yeah, they’re very lucky that ‘started’ rhymes with it.

Stewart continued, “The press corps had to spend the whole holiday weekend down at Mar-a-Lago, listening to this brain ooze, and then, they couldn’t even go back home by themselves. They had to fly back with this nut and ask him if he wants to clarify any of the nonsense.”
“What is happening?! When Ken Burns does the documentary on this era…” said Stewart, narrating the situation in his best Burns impression.
In what started as “a very happy Thanksgiving salutation,” Trump ended up calling Walz “seriously re****ed” in the Truth Social post. He later doubled down that “there’s something wrong with Walz,” whose son has a non-verbal learning disorder.
“This is what Donald Trump has done,” Walz said in response on Meet the Press. “He has normalized this type of hateful behavior and this type of language. At first, I think it’s just because he’s not a good human being. But secondly, to distract from his incompetency.”
Walz added, “Many times, it’s just about being decent to people and making them feel included. You can use that word. Sure, you can use that language. But you shouldn’t. And that’s something Donald Trump fails to realize.”
