While many Saturday Night Live alums eventually return to host, Pete Davidson is ready to return as a cast member if Lorne Michaels wanted him.
The comedian, who was part of the NBC sketch comedy’s cast from 2014 to 2022, said he would “do anything” for the show’s creator when asked what it would take for SNL to get him back.
“I had a great time hosting last time, and anytime you get that call, it’s an honor and a privilege,” he told People. “It’s always relevant, it’s a hot show. People look forward to it, and the cast is great.”

Davidson added of Michaels, “I owe that guy my life. He jump-started everything. So I’d do anything for Lorne, and he knows that.”
Following an eight-season run, Davidson departed SNL in 2022 along with several co-stars. Ahead of his final episode that May, he said that “SNL is my home” in a statement, adding: “I’m so happy and sad about tonight’s show. For so many reasons I can’t explain.”
In December, Davidson explained that he “got hit on the face with the Hollywood shovel” before his exit and that he’s “very happy where I am right now, mentally.”
Davidson returned to SNL to make his hosting debut in 2023, last appearing on the SNL50: The Anniversary Special in February.
