EXCLUSIVE: The Miniature Wife has found new partners around the world. The high-concept Matthew Macfadyen and Elizabeth Banks show is for Peacock in the U.S. It had a glitzy screening for the international set at the MIPCOM market in Cannes last month. Sony Pictures Television is handling distribution and has secured new deals in the wake of the preview showing.
HBO Max has stepped up and acquired the series for its service across Latin America. The streamer has also snapped up the show for the Central and Eastern Europe region. Elsewhere, pay-TV platform beIN has bought the ten-part drama for the Middle East and North Africa.
The deals were cut by SPT, which had already pre-sold the comedy-infused drama to Sky in the UK and Ireland, streaming service Stan in Australia, and Canadian TV and streaming giant Bell Media. In all, the deals mean The Miniature Wife has now sold into over 70 countries, which is a good start for a high-concept drama that has not even premiered yet. The series is slated to launch on Peacock in the U.S. in early 2026.

Macfadyen and Banks play Les and Lindy in the drama, a couple trying to keep their marriage together. The wrinkle is that he has accidentally shrunk her to six inches high, adding a high-concept twist to the relationship drama.
Deadline moderated the Q+A after the Cannes screening with Macfadyen speaking alongside two of his co-stars, Sian Clifford, and O-T Fagbenle. “Because it’s so heightened you can play it really life and death,” Macfadyen said at the time.
The series is based on author Manuel Gonzales’ short story and was created by Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner (Boardwalk Empire, Goliath), who are showrunners and executive producers. Media Res (Pachinko) produces.
“The series has huge star power—led by Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen—a wildly unique and inventive concept and razor-sharp writing,” said Mike Wald, Co-President of Distribution & Networks, SPT. “These sales are a testament to the strong commercial appeal of the series Media Res has produced. We believe audiences around the world will relate to the wit and honesty of these flawed yet funny characters.”
