Eric Kripke Shares Update On ‘The Boys’ Season 5 & Teases Final Season Coming “Reasonably” Soon

Amazon’s Prime Video series The Boys is ending after five seasons, and series creator Eric Kripke is sharing an update.

The last time The Boys released a new episode was on July 18, 2024, and fans are anxious to find out how the saga concludes. In a new social media post, Kripke teased when viewers can expect Season 5 to drop.

“We’re hard at work finishing @theboystv Final Season,” Kripke posted on Instagram. “Here’s me and some of the VFX team today. Editing is all done, we’re roughly halfway finished with VFX, Music, Color.”

He continued, “I’m really happy with how it’s going and can’t wait for you to see. We go out with a bang. COMING (reasonably) SOON.”

In July, Kripke posted a photo of himself in The Seven’s conference room at Vought Tower as he bid farewell to the set.

“This is the last time I’ll ever be on this set. It’ll be torn down soon. It’s bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude,” he shared. “We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun story to write, and something that is impossible to predict: the right timing. You wait your whole career to have maybe two of those things, if you’re lucky. We got all of them.”

Antony Starr, who played Homelander in the series, also shared an emotional post bidding farewell to his character as filming wrapped for the final season.

“This complicated character allowed the space and range to discover and push boundaries in a way I never expected and I will always be grateful for this experience,” he shared.

Starr also mentioned Kripe, saying, “We created a monster, sir. And I will miss him, and you. Til we roll out the last season. When I’ll see you. But this creative chapter is closed , and I’ll miss it, brother.”
