Gabe Gibbs Inks Veeps Deal For Debut Musical Comedy Special ‘Pick A Lane’

EXCLUSIVE: Gabe Gibbs is set to unveil his debut musical comedy special, Pick a Lane, exclusively on the streaming service Veeps on November 12 at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET.

Filmed at Dynasty Typewriter in Los Angeles, the special sees Gibbs sing his way through with two pianos — one for “comedy” and the other for “dramatic little boys.” While going back and forth between the two, he explores topics like farts, wieners, and the inevitable downfall of Jared Leto. Check out a trailer above.

Gibbs’ hour has been a labor of love three years in the making. He first performed the show for friends and family in his living room before taking his pianos on the road to tour his show across the United States, including a stop at the 2024 New York Comedy Festival and a sold-out night at the 2024 Netflix Is a Joke festival at Dynasty Typewriter in Los Angeles.

“I’m a musical theatre kid who stumbled backwards into comedy, so this special was only possible because of the community of people I have the pleasure of making things with,” said the comic. “I’m so proud of how Pick A Lane turned out and it’s mostly because of their collaboration, and my incredible singing voice and unrivaled sense of humor.”

Directed by Patrick Muhlberger, the special was self-financed by Gibbs and is a co-production between his Geniust, Inc. production company and Dynasty Typewriter Productions. Gibbs exec produced alongside Muhlberger, Stephen Gordon Walker, and Lauren Cortizo.

Gibbs is a creative at the intersection of music and comedy who, before landing in L.A., starred as Elder Price in the national tour of The Book of Mormon after being with the Broadway company prior. He’s been seen recurring on ABC’s Schooled and has also guest starred on Grey’s Anatomy and other series.

Recently launching a new musical comedy podcast called Mom Said! with two of his siblings, Gibbs also starred in The Old Globe production of Regency Girls, which aims to head to Broadway next year, and composed a comedic musical number for the 2025 Producers Guild of America Awards. Additionally, he has taken his unique skill set to social media with viral musical parodies including Britney Spears: The Musical, Backstreet Boys: The Musical, Jonas Brothers: The Musical, and more.

Gibbs is represented by Gersh, WalkTheWalk, and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum.
