No, Carrie Bradshaw isn’t hosting or performing on Saturday Night Live this weekend, but Sabrina Carpenter is. And the hitmaking singer is channeling Sarah Jessica Parker’s two-series Manhattanite character in the first promo, complete with the familiar voice-over. Have a look above.
Carpenter narrates her interactions with cast members including Sarah Sherman, Tommy Brennan and “Mr. Big” Marcello Hernández and others as she struts in high heels, sinks a cosmopolitan, smacks a booty and signs an autograph for a writer (Martin Herlihy) amid a familiar light-jazzy soundtrack.
“The woman wondered what she’d gotten herself into,” Bradshaw — er, Carpenter thinks as she opens a laptop and begins typing, and beaming. “Having won over the cast and crew, the only thing left to do was…”

Carpenter also is doing double duty as musical guest on this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live, which airs at 8:30 p.m. PT/11:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
